Turandot surrenders to Love!
Puccini’s unfinished opera, the work with which he delves deeply into the human soul, remained unfinished because the Maestro hesitated for so long over how to render the transformation of the Princess of Frost who, from her natural predisposition towards death, finally opens up to life out of love.
This production was greeted with great enthusiasm by the public in 2021 and was directed by Daniele Abbado, who saw Turandot, a masterpiece of the 20th century, as a work of extraordinary modernity.
A symbolic and minimal “contemporary” stage design for an absolutely modern opera in which an important technological approach is evident thanks to the beautiful sets by Angelo Linzalata, innovative light bodies also illuminate the colourful, modern costumes by Giovanna Buzzi.
