Music by Giacomo Puccini
gira la cote! gira, gira! gira…
Puccini’s unfinished Turandot, set to celebrate 100 years since its first performance posthumously in 2026, returns to the stage for four performances at the Puccini Festival. The production features scenes conceived by Angelo Linzalata and brought to life by the artists of the Cittadella del Carnevale.
This production bears the signature of Daniele Abbado, who recognizes in Turandot, a 20th-century masterpiece, an opera of extraordinary modernity. A symbolic and minimalistic “contemporary” stage layout has been designed for this decidedly modern opera, where the significant use of technology is evident. Innovative light sources also illuminate the colorful, modern costumes designed by Giovanna Buzzi.
