An exciting program of music by Johann Strauss Jr., the Viennese composer universally known as the “Waltz King” and P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The Kiev Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Ukraine National Radio will make a stop at Torre del Lago, during their December to January Italian tour in numerous concert halls and theaters, from Pordenone to Palermo.

An exciting programme from Modest Mussorgsky with “Pictures at an Exhibition” and a “Night on Bare Mountain”, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) with the Suite from “Sleeping Beauty“, Johann Strauss jr. (1825-1899) “The Gypsy Baron” Ouverture “Klipp Klapp” Galop op. 466 “The train of delights” Polka op. 281 “Galop Brigands” op. 378 “Tales from the Vienna Woods” Waltz op. 325 “Voices of Spring” waltz op. 410.

Recognized as the best orchestra of the Ukraine, the Radio Orchestra of Kiev has to his credit over 80 years of activity and its great successes on their world tours. The orchestra is the most invited Ukrainian Orchestra in the world: In addition to performing an intense institutional activity and concerts at home, in recent years the orchestra has made numerous tours abroad including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Poland and South Korea. Since 2005 it has been conducted by Maestro Volodymyr Sheiko born in Kharkiv, and studied at the Kiev Conservatory. Kapellmeister at the National Opera of Kiev has perfected the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow under the guidance of Fuat Mansurov.

Under the artistic direction of Vladimir Sheiko the Orchestra has made over 200 recordings of international music and masterpieces of Ukrainian music in favour of the National Fund Radio.
